I absolutely loved this fast-paced first-in-a-series book that is everything that you could want from a superhero story! Spanning the UK and Nigeria, the British-Nigerian Onyeka is an absolutely outstanding character who drives the plot throughout the story – bring on the next book!
by A.F. Harrold and illustrated by Levi Pinfold
This is one of those books that I often find myself thinking of – it really stayed with me! I’m a big fan of A.F. Harrold’s writing and this book is a cracker – dark, unsettling and certainly thought-provoking! Centred on poor decisions and how consequences can be far-reaching, I’d highly recommend this one for those who like a bit of creepy mystery!
by Ann Sei Lin
This book is marketed as YA but I really think it is perfect for those more mature Year 5/6 readers. The world building centred around warring clans and the unique paper-crafting abilities of Crafters and their control of Shikigami and is absolutely astounding and I love how many questions were left unanswered, ready for the next books! An absolute must for fans of Philip Reeve’s Mortal Engines quartet.
