What was your favourite childhood book and why?

I loved The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien. I really enjoy reading about magical worlds and the description of Tolkien’s worlds is always incredible. I also love the adventure in this story – it’s absolutely amazing. And one of my favourite things about the story is the message – that even the smallest of people can make the biggest of difference.

Which of your own books is your favourite and why?

It’s really hard to choose a favourite, as all of my books are part of me. It’s like choosing between your ear and your elbow – and both come in handy for very different reasons! I am particularly fond of The House At The Edge Of Magic series. I really enjoyed letting my imagination go wild and creating a magical universe of its own. There are always new things to discover inside the actual House At The Edge Of Magic – every cupboard has a new surprise. And sometimes doors appear from nowhere. So there is always something new to explore in the world, and I could never, ever get bored with playing here.

Why do you choose to read?

I love to read for many reasons. I enjoy stepping into other people’s heads and seeing the world from a different view. It helps me understand people better, understand our incredible world better, and understand life better. And that can only be a good thing. I also enjoy stepping into other worlds and experiencing something new and exciting. I really enjoy adventures, and a book will take me on one whenever I wish.
