Warrington TRG – update from Lynsey Kelly

With 3 of 5 meetings for this year already completed, the Warrington Teachers’ Reading group is going from strength to strength!  During each session, we share updates from the Open University’s RfP website and engage in professional discussions about reading for pleasure. We have a fantastic group of committed members from primary schools in very different settings and have developed a wonderful community in which to share good practice and offer support.

In our February meeting, we shared our thoughts and experiences about social reading areas – the challenges we face as well as the things that work well.  We also explored the RfP pedagogy of reading aloud and how this works in our schools. We shared our RfP development work projects and discussed how we will write these up as examples of practice for the OU RfP website. As always, we brought books to share – this time the focus was Graphic Novels!
