We were a small but mighty collective in our first year as members of a Teachers’ Reading Group in Bracknell Forest during 2023. Colleagues from primary and junior schools in Bracknell Forest and Wokingham took part and shared their impact in our final meeting of the year in June 2023. These were fabulous examples of how small, focused, evidence-informed alterations to practice can make a big difference to children’s reading attitudes, behaviours and knowledge. We are looking forward to reading the resulting Examples of Practice on the OU RfP website!
We were delighted to welcome poet and author, Coral Rumble, as a special guest to our final meeting, who shared poems with us, signed books and celebrated members’ achievements.
We are excited to host a TRG in Bracknell Forest in 2023-24 and are keen to invite colleagues from across Berkshire and our other geographical neighbours. We meet in-person, but our intro launch event is online on Wednesday 13th September, 4-5pm, for anyone interested in finding out more.
