Canterbury TRG 2: An update from Tracy Parvin

Swalecliffe Community school have had their own TRG for the last 3 years, joined by a cross-section of the school community and the owners of a local independent book shop. Online meetings have led to us gaining a visiting member, Amelia, the 12-year-old daughter of one participant, who has offered us a unique insight into children’s reading practices.

This year, our group focus is Reading communities which includes an ‘Adopt an Author’ initiative – we are delighted that Joseph Coehlo has agreed to work us.

What I love about this group is their desire to further develop RfP practice and look for innovative ways to foster children’s reading pleasures. They are committed and passionate readers themselves and this just oozes through all our conversations. Thank you Swalecliffe!
