An exciting new RfP Quality Mark for primary and secondary schools is being scoped by the OU and UKLA. This will recognise and celebrate schools who have a strong RfP culture and ethos, knowledgeable staff and an embedded RfP pedagogy that has a documented impact on young people. The research-informed Quality Mark will link to the OU/ UKLA Teachers as Readers and later studies in this area. Developing this in partnership with the profession, the team intend to pilot the criteria before hopefully launching in 2022!
Such a Quality Mark would give schools the opportunity to showcase their work and help them evaluate, enhance and embed their RfP provision in order to nurture more young people who voluntarily and frequently read, thus changing their life chances.
Applicants will need to be UKLA school members.
