OURfPBookBlether curriculum recommendations

Our February one-hour Twitter Book Blethers were led by super Teacher Reading Group Leaders and dedicated OU RfP Partners. Our huge thanks go out to Rich Charlesworth, Krista Greenwood, Jon Biddle, Gemma Gascoine, Ben Harrison, Toria Bono, Nicki Cleveland and Robert Laight.

This time around we focussed on the curriculum and books to read aloud, enjoy and connect with.

Our OU research indicated that teachers’ knowledge of children’s literature is at the heart of rich classroom practice that fosters young readers. So, the aims of the planned blethers were to:

  • Widen teachers and student teachers’ knowledge of texts
  • Enrich their understanding of how they might use such texts to support RfP in the curriculum

Our wonderful TRG leader Mary-Rose Grieve and Marilyn Brockelhurst over at Norfolk Book Shop kindly collated all of the recommendations from each blether onto the website, ready to buy and with an added DISCOUNT too! Feel free to check them out or buy from your local or preferred bookshop.
