OU/UKLA Reading for Pleasure Conference Sat 14th March 2020, Cambridge **POSTPONED**

OU/UKLA Conference 'Reading for Pleasure: the thread that connects', Saturday 14th March 2020, Cambridge.

Due to the unprecedented current circumstances and additional information that is rapidly unfolding, the OU has made the difficult decision to postpone the Cambridge conference tomorrow.

We will explore when it is feasible to reschedule and email all attendees when the situation is clearer.

We are saddened and disappointed but consider this is the wisest option for all. Emerging information indicates by holding it we would be putting vulnerable families and friends at risk.

We trust delegates will understand – these are extraordinary times.

The OU team

Reading for pleasure is a social justice issue. International evidence indicates it offers cognitive, social and emotional benefits, helping children make connections with each other, their teachers, families and the wider world. This conference will help you enrich your repertoire of children’s texts and create reading communities that connect and support young readers. The Egmont RfP Awards, Frank Cottrell Boyce and Norfolk Children’s Book Centre bookshop will enrich the day! Workshops led by OU/UKLA Teachers’ Reading Group members will share evidence-informed practice. To find out more download our poster on the right.
