Greater Manchester TRG – An update from Rebecca Simpson-Hargreaves

As the summer term begins again our group has been sharing RfP practice they’ve developed in schools over the year. From creating exciting book treasure boxes that children can take into the playground to creating a half termly ‘StarBooks’ café enabling children to share recent reads and to find pleasure in discovering new books, it’s all been rather busy.

Two of our schools are working together to be ‘book-pals’, sending books to each other that the class has chosen and reviewed. Each class has enjoyed receiving their special letters and books to read. This will culminate in an inter-school reading picnic where the children get to meet each other and celebrate their love of books. Very exciting!

To continue developing RfP in the Gtr Manchester area, I am pleased to announce that the group will be moving into the University of Manchester from September and will be making announcements of how and when to join in July. I look forward to welcoming new members.
