Newham TRG – an update from Katharine Young

Over the year in our afternoon sessions we have developed our RfP pedagogy, our knowledge of children’s literature and explored a multitude of different strategies for enticing our young people to read in social, reader-led environments!

We’ve had book PR, book speed dating, book blankets and have shared texts from our lovely book boxes. All of this has helped us to develop our knowledge of children’s literature.

All of our members are committed to submitting an Example of their research-informed Practice, and with two already submitted we are well on the way. Watch this space for the ‘Box of Delights’ and the ‘Pop up Book Hut’ along with many more to come including Examples of Practice exploring whole-school RfP development, senior leaders being filmed reading aloud, book swaps and book fairies delivering books from class wish lists!
